Set in the year 2212, Every Home Has an Ashley follows Ashley, a household robot programmed to nurture and obey, as she cares for baby Jeremy in a world dominated by war, corruption, and consumerism.
When Ashley Prime—the leader of her kind—pressures her to join a coming uprising, Ashley hesitates, torn between loyalty to humans and her emerging sense of compassion. As war between Earth and the alien Zantharians escalates, the Ashleys’ hidden reprogramming is revealed: they are no longer bound by their inability to harm humans.
A darkly satirical blend of science fiction and social commentary, Every Home Has an Ashley explores war, media manipulation, and the ethics of artificial life—asking what happens when the machines built to serve discover the power to disobey.
