Horror Movie Class – Notes and Assignment 3
Assignment for Sat. 10/3 class:
- Please memorize this for tomorrow:
- One of the things we will be covering in the 10/3 class is how to assemble light stands and break them down quickly. Another is how to monitor audio and what you listen for.
- For those wanting to help brainstorm, I’ve posted an updated list of the genres below with more complete descriptions of the typical genre elements.
- Our location for the 10/3 meeting our usual room at Greenwood Senior Center.
- To anyone checking on a location – please keep checking and keep us posted. My home in Bothell is workable in a pinch but is not necessarily ideal.
To our writers:
- To students who are planning on jotting down script ideas and sending them in on Friday 10/9 after the kickoff — I’ve created a writing guide below, with notes about what needs to be in each genre and what is optional.
- I meant to add, when plotting one of these out, it’s important to think about having a role every student.
- If you are writing up a couple of paragraphs as a brief description of a plot, you don’t have to indicate the character names, or which actors would play which roles, but do you think about having a story in which everyone could play a part. I will sometimes slip in a little cameo for myself, so if we include me, that would be 15 actors.
